Experts in making our blue plant a green place

We work to make our blue planet a greener place for more people. We do so by helping visionary companies, organisations and communities develop, build and run plants that transform natural resources into sustainable energy. Plants that also contribute to sustainable use of organic waste and a better aquatic environment.

Pioneers within green transition

As one of Denmark’s major biogas developers, Lundsby Biogas converts several tons of biomass to green and CO² neutral gas. We do this in the most efficient way by designing and building turnkey biogas plants. We cooperate with different suppliers of upgrading plants for the supply of biomethane for the natural gas grid.

Lundsby Biogas always delivers a thoroughly tested and commissioned biogas plant, as well as the associated proper training of the operating staff. We offer ongoing support, until the operating manager feels confident regarding both the technical and biological part of the biogas plant. We are aware of the importance of always being up to date on the latest knowledge and experience in biogas plants, and therefore, we will never leave you to your own devices – we will always maintain contact.

Years of experience with quality solutions

When we help visionary companies, organisations and communities make their dream of safe and green energy come true, we use all our competencies, i.e. with regard to each other as colleagues and in our relationship with customers, suppliers and other business partners. We have done so for more than 25 years, and we are still going strong.

We are good at many things, but especially good at:

  • PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT
We deliver as agreed, as calculated and on time. Every time.
  • DEVELOPMENT
The desire and will to combine professional competence, skills, materials, technologies and existing solutions in new ways is deeply rooted in our DNA.
  • DIALOGUE
The best solutions are found in unison – based on good communication and dialogue.
  • KEEPING IT SIMPLE
We focus on minimising complexity and maximising value without compromising on quality.

Through thick and thin

If we want to succeed in making all ends meet and closing the gap in the green energy supply (which we must), we have to do it together. You can use our experience when you build a biogas plant. And we can use your experience when the plant has been commissioned. One of the most important things to Lundsby is to maintain a close relationship with you, so we can learn from each other and become better together.

We are so privileged that our current customers share this philosophy. As a new customer, you will feel it when we use experience from the many biogas plants that we have already built and commissioned nation-wide in order to foster the best possible solution for you.

Listen to some of the customers, who already share their experiences with us.

We are extremely happy about our cooperation with Lundsby and their counselling – both in terms of the conducted analyses and the increased bacterial flora.

The investment in my new tank will be repaid in about seven years. I am quite happy, when I look at all the positive spin-off benefits.

The last two years we haven’t had much contact with Lundsby. We almost run the plant by ourselves. So, I must conclude that the education from Lundsby has been very good.

Michael Thomsen, Operating managerGrønhøj Biogas

The start-up of the plant proceeded as it should and the plant today produces the gas, we expected with the raw materials we have available. We are very satisfied with the plant from Lundsby.

The facility is built with a great height. It makes it easier for the lorries to drive in and unload without making too much of a mess in secluded surroundings, where we can absorb unpleasant odors and avoid bothering our neighbors. This is of great importance to Vinkel Bioenergi.

Jeppe Klug Madsen, CEOVinkel Bioenergi

After start-up and commissioning, one of Lundsby’s engineers was assigned to Outrup Biogas – the engineer provided good professional back-and-forth and dialogues when we were facing problems, had doubts about the plant or wanted other programming. He was always there to help us – also during weekends, in the evening and at night.

In 2020, we extended the plant further and simultaneously established an upgrading plant, enabling us to produce biomethane for the natural gas network.

Carsten Thesbjerg, CEOOL Biogas ApS

We now derive 8-10% more biomethane from the same amount of biomass and my clients are much more satisfied with the degassed manure because the floating sludge in their storage tanks is vastly reduced. Another advantage is that the degassed manure is thinner and penetrates into the ground much easier, e.g. on meadows – which used to be a problem.

Knud Christensen, OwnerViftrup Biogas P/S

The process involved weekly meetings with representatives of Lundsby – meetings during which we discussed the project and exchanged thoughts and ideas. It was crucial to us to have a partner who we could trust would listen to our input.

The design of the plant differs somewhat from other plants. We have chosen a solution using a DBC crane. It makes us more flexible since we every day feed the plant with several tons of dry matter.

Jeppe Klug Madsen, CEOVinkel Bioenergi

Lundsby has been associated with the biogas plant during the start-up phase and helped to ensure the right start-up. Lundsby also made sure to have a good introduction made for our employees, who must look after the plant daily.

In less than 4 hours we have covered one residence’s energy need for a whole year.

Boe Madsen, Co-owner Madsen Bioenergi

In 2015, Lundsby built a biogas plant on my site, allowing me to supply biomethane to Spjald Fjernvarmeværk. The plant is easy to operate, and I have produced more gas than first expected.

Knud Christensen, OwnerViftrup Biogas P/S

In 2017, we decided to extend the biogas plant so it could handle solid biomass. We entrusted Lundsby with the job of building a feed system, allowing us to add deep litter, straw and other 2nd generation crops.

Carsten Thesbjerg, CEO OL Biogas ApS

quote

The plant is build by Lundsby and one of their engineers was assigned to the project for six months and should teach us how to run the plant. He did it very well. A man, who we could get in touch with 24 hours a day and he could answer all our questions and help us overcome alle the problems that we faced.

Michael Thomsen, Operating supervisorGrønhøj Biogas

Our cooperation with Lundsby has worked really well. Lundsby have been good at training our staff.

Jens Heilskov, Operations managerOutrup Biogas

Lundsby has ensured that we got the biogas plant that we need to handle the biomass we have available.

Mads Niær Kristensen, Director and co-ownerGrauballegaard Biogas

We expect to produce 5-6,000 m³ of biomethane per hour. We are currently at approx. 100,000 tons per day, which all the owners are very proud of.

Jeppe Klug Madsen, CEOVinkel Bioenergi

quote

Our cooperation with Lundsby has been great. Lundsby have been good at making our staff confident about running the plant alone.

Jens Heilskov, Operations managerOutrup Biogas

I came to Outrup a few months before the commissioning of the plant. The training from Lundsby made it possible to get a good grasp on things, I felt ready to take over the operation afterwards.

Jens Heilskov, Operations managerOutrup Biogas

quote

I learned that the big quantities of dry matter such as straw, deep litter and seed grass straw that were added to the plant had a very high content of dry matter in the degassed manure. I therefore decided to build another post-degassing tank sized 4,600m³ in 2019, which extended my residence time.

Knud Christensen, OwnerViftrup Biogas P/S

Lundsby has been good at taking our wishes into consideration.

Jesper Røn, Operating supervisorVestjysk Biogas

quote

We have had a fine cooperation with Lundsby since the start of the project. They have been very good at meeting our wishes — and they were available whenever we needed help. Even during weekends and at night when the plant was acting up.

Jesper Røn, Operations managerVestjysk Biogas

quote

The plant was designed for a production of 1,650m3 per hour. Today – two years after start-up – we produce slightly more than 1,650m3 of crude gas per hour, and we are very happy with it.

Our knowledge is your strength

We are extremely curious and we therefore keep improving our competencies and knowledge about everything from building processes to biology. How can we develop our biogas plants to make them even more efficient? How can we create most value for the environment, the climate and for you and us? The green transition cannot come too quickly; therefore, we work and develop fast. And we would like you to join us.

The story of Lundsby

Lundsby has worked with biogas and green transition since 1995, when Erik Lundsby Andresen founded the company Lundsby Bioenergi A/S. In 2015, he sold the company to three players who continued it under the name Lundsby A/S.

In 2022, the main shareholder Stenger & Ibsen Construction A/S and the two part-owners – technical manager Gert Rosenquist and sales manager Karsten Hjort – changed the name into Lundsby Renewable Solutions, one of the reasons being the intention of exploiting the company’s international potential to the maximum. Lundsby has more than 25 years of experience with designing and building turnkey biogas plants. The company’s headquarters are located in Lønstrup near Viborg and the company has a subsidiary in Sweden.

All Lundsby’s biogas plants are customised to suit individual customer requirements and demands. This applies to the capacity as well as the types of organic material, which the plant must be able to process into green energy. The preconditions of Lundsby’s ongoing development are our competent and loyal employees as well as customer experience, and we appreciate greatly that we may share it. We believe that exactly such good relations – in-house as well as externally – are the common strength that enables us to close the gap in the green energy supply and complete the green transition.
